May 2007:
The new Summer Menu starts on Monday 14th May.
We’ve kept some of the favourites, and added some new dishes that we hope will become favourites of the future.
Wednesdays are still Roast Day. And guess what, Fridays are still Chip Day! There are some traditions that just have to be respected!
As usual, the Summer Menu has been analysed by a nutritionist to ensure it contains the right balance of ingredients to nourish our growing children.
Around 70% of our fresh fruit and vegetables are grown in Kent, and this will increase in the summer months. Our meat is supplied by local butcher Rooks and is always fresh and of a high quality.
Picnic Option
Some schools allow children to eat outdoors in the summer-where the facilities are suitable.
In these schools, Tuesdays and Thursdays will be “Pick up a Picnic Pack” days.
In these schools, children will be able to take their main meal to eat outside, packed in a bag. The meal will be the one shown on the menu but instead of being plated, they can choose to take it in a bag outdoors.
Not all schools have the facilities to allow children to eat outside so it won’t be possible for all children.
If your school is offering children this facility, meals can be booked and paid for in the normal way on a Monday or online / at a Paypoint outlet for ParentPay schools.

“What great value! - A hot main meal with 2 vegetables; salad; bread; and pudding - all for £1.85. Wow!"
£1.85 is the meal price for a primary school child who is not entitled to Free School Meals. The cost for 5 days’ meals is just £9.25 - or see our website for other options.
